John Yong

John is responsible for driving the company’s cyber business in regions across Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong as well as new markets. He also leads the development of strategy and
programme to ensure information assets and technologies are adequately protected. Prior to joining Quann, John held management and consulting roles in multinational corporations and government agencies in the region. He was a Group Director at Singapore Government InfoComm Development Authority’s Information Security Group, and Chief Security Advisor to the largest telecommunications group in the Philippines.
John started his career with the Ministry of Defence since 1980, and later joined the then- National Computer Board in 1991 to head its IT Security Department. A seasoned infocomm security professional with over 35 years of experience, John received the International Data Group ASEAN Chief Security Officer Award and was recognised as one of the most outstanding Chief Security Officers in 2013. He is elected as a Fellow to the Singapore Computer Society and served on the Advisory Board to the IT faculty at the Singapore University of Technology and Design. He currently seated on the board of two Certis/Temasek invested companies in Thailand and India.
John holds a Master's degree in Computer Science from the University of Salford in the United Kingdom.
